Hero Complex is a tabletop roleplaying game of doomed souls, transformed against their will, into monstrous living weapons called Recast. Chased by dark forces and scorned by the world, Recast must fight to protect the people they care about while stemming the tide of their inhuman corruption.  Player Characters in Hero Complex take inspiration from tragic henshin heroes such as Kamen Rider, Devilman, Baoh the Visitor, and Guyver. They are gifted but flawed individuals that must stay true to their convictions and keep their loved ones safe while maintaining their humanity.

Features and Mechanics

• TRANSFORM into a unique superhuman weapon by mixing and matching over 100 traits and symptoms. Balance use of powerful abilities with CORRUPTION, and try to maintain your humanity or embrace the dark power.
• CONTROL TIME with the TEMPO SYSTEM, fast actions resolve first, but slower actions hit harder. Are you going to recklessly dive into fight or get into a better position at the cost of time?
• PROTECT those important to you. CONNECTIONS are allied characters that can act in your stead. Though incredibly useful, they are only human.
• STRUGGLE against your SHADOW, a negative aspect of your personality, to fuel your CONVICTION, that you can use to break your limits.
• INVESTIGATE your enemies and foil their plots in a dangerous race against time. The book includes hundreds of prompts for monster-of-the-week adventures.
  
• WAGE WAR against secret organizations who plot and scheme for world domination. Collateral damage will ESCALATE the situation, forcing enemy factions and the global government to take action.

• A Tempo Board (included at the end of the book)
